Collection Drive Sponsored by the Food Pantry at Columbia, May 1-10

Help support the Food Pantry at Columbia by donating your non-perishable food items to the Canned Goods Drive! Donations will be accepted from May 1 through May 10.

Room Selection 2024 is Wednesday, March 27 - Friday, April 14. Use the list of lottery numbers and corresponding group size to help you plan for your Room Selection appointment. 

Columbia Housing is monitoring outdoor temperatures to ensure that heating systems are turned off when appropriate.

Students who were unable to select a room during Room Selection due to their configuration have were notified on April 17 and added to the Guaranteed Assignment List. Assignment will be sent to students in July.

Columbia Housing is excited to announce that it has taken on nine new summer interns from the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I). 

Transfer requests for the fall term can be submitted between September 19 and September 30. 

The Hartley Hospitality Desk will continue to offer support to the students living on-campus for the summer. However, operating hours are adjusted:

  • 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily: In-person and phone support available to students
  • 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. daily: Phone support available to students. 

Summer presents the opportunity for project work in the residence halls. The following highlights improvements and updates planned in our buildings, so residents and community members can plan accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our team.

Residential students may host one non-CUID holder guest overnight after completing a required pre-registration and vaccination verification process.

    On Friday 5/6, students received confirmation of their request for summer housing. Details including assignments and move instructions are to follow shortly. In the meantime, please review important milestones and dates. 

    Campus and street closures are planned to support the May 19 commencement activities for the classes of 2020 and 2021, and may impact Check-Out for graduating seniors.

    Per New York City code, the Morningside campus is in "heating season" until May 31. As such, all buildings must remain equipped to provide heat. See Heat and Hot Water in Guide to Living for more information.
