Room Selection Appointment Times by Class

Here's a breakdown of Room Selection appointments by class and by mixed point group bands. This will help you determine where your appointment time falls within your class.

Room Selection registration is now open for RAs and RA Riders, SIC and FSL residents, and students registered with Disability Services and their Riders.

Room Selection registration for non-pre-assigned students will begin next week. This is the first of several important dates in the Room Selection process.

Room Selection registration for Academic Year 2024-2025 begins Monday, February 19.

All residence halls will be open during winter break but you may need to take additional steps to prepare for your stay or departure.

With the recent refresh of East Campus suites, Columbia Housing partnered with The Junkluggers, an eco-friendly "junk" removal company, to find a new home for the used furniture. Housing successfully donated 107 furniture items and recycled over 50, keeping the refresh in line with its commitment to sustainable practices and greatly reducing the number of items directed to landfills.

We’re looking to add more pictures of student rooms and living spaces to our website, and we need your help! From now until December 22, students can submit pictures of their assigned space for a chance to win $10 Flex.

If you will be leaving campus for Thanksgiving break, please complete these simple steps to keep your residence hall and room safe.

The Combined Plan Lottery Application is now open. You must complete the Combined Plan Lottery Application before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17 in order to be entered into the lottery. 

A lottery will be conducted to determine which Combined Plan students will be able to participate in Room Selection and live on campus for Academic Year 24-25. You must participate in the Combined Plan lottery in order to qualify for Room Selection.

Starting this month, Columbia Housing will begin a project to install new electronic access-controlled door locks across campus.

Top to Ground Floor Refresh Over Summer Break

Over the 2023 Summer break period, Broadway Hall received a full building makeover! The refresh included new furniture for student lounges plus smart televisions that can be operated by a mobile app; pantries upgraded including all new appliances; student rooms redone with latest finishes, new furniture and a wireless key entry system installed. Plus 27 refreshed communal restrooms and 44 fully redesigned, gender-inclusive restrooms of which 35 are ADA compliant. Updated light fixtures, new carpeting, and fresh paint throughout gave the building its finishing touches.

Students who are not returning for spring semester, including seniors graduating in February, students studying abroad, and students taking leave, must check-out within 24 hours of their last exam or by 12:00 p.m. noon on December 22, whichever is sooner. Those students are not eligible to remain in Columbia Housing over Winter Break. 

Columbia Housing is monitoring outdoor temperatures to ensure that heating systems are turned on when appropriate.
