General Room Selection Registration & More Room Selection Dates

Room Selection registration for non-pre-assigned students will begin next week. This is the first of several important dates in the Room Selection process.

General Room Selection Registration Begins February 19

All students must register their housing intent during the registration period, Monday, February 19 – Friday, March 1, if they:

  • Want to participate in selection and choose their AY 24-25 assignment,
  • Plan to study abroad or take a leave of absence, or
  • Intend to move off-campus.

Students who do not register by 5 p.m. on March 1 will lose your guaranteed housing status and will not be able to participate in Room Selection.

What to Expect

  • Register as an individual or as part of a group.
    • Columbia Housing encourages students to participate as part of an even-numbered group to improve their chances of being able to select a room during their appointment time. This is especially important for rising sophomores and juniors.
  • Complete registration through the Statement of Intent step.
  • After registration ends, groups and individual participants will receive lottery numbers and appointment times. Learn more in the dates section below.

Important Dates

Pre-Assigned Students

The registration period for pre-assigned students runs from Thursday, February 15 - Friday, February 16. This applies to RA and RA riders, FSL and SIC residents, and students who are registered with Disability Services and their Riders. More information about this registration will be sent on February 15.
