Attend a virtual information session to learn more about Room Selection.
What to Expect
The information sessions are an opportunity to hear from the Room Selection experts, and will include:
- A presentation from the Housing staff about Room Selection logistics, including an overview of the process, reminders of upcoming dates and deadlines, and recommendations for resources
- Q&A breakout sessions with students who will give tips for how to have a smooth selection experience and speak about their residential experience.
Recordings of each session will be posted to our here and on our YouTube channel within 7 days of the session.

Room Selection FAQs
Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in Columbia College or the School of Engineering and Applied Science with guaranteed housing are eligible to participate in Room Selection.
Select Combined Plan students may also participate in Room Selection if they were admitted through the Combined Plan Lottery in November.

Each building has a dedicated page in our Residence Hall Directory with information about the style of bathrooms, the type of flooring, communal spaces and amenities, pictures of rooms, and more.
We also recommend that you attend the info session so that you can speak directly to other students during the breakout session to ask questions about the building experience.
