Updated Move-Out Steps Spring 2024

Check-Out resources are available to students who may want to move out of their residence hall earlier than planned.

Columbia Housing is monitoring outdoor temperatures to ensure that heating systems are turned off when appropriate.

Students who were unable to select a room during Room Selection due to their configuration have were notified on April 17 and added to the Guaranteed Assignment List. Assignment will be sent to students in July. 

Help support the Food Pantry at Columbia by donating your non-perishable food items to the Canned Goods Drive! Donations will be accepted from May 1 through May 10.

Everyone eligible for Columbia Housing needs to register in the Housing Portal even if you are not planning to participate in Room Selection. A quick guide with step-by-step registration instructions is available.

The Room Selection process is proceeding as if we will be reunited on campus for the fall semester. Make sure to register for the Virtual Info Session that is scheduled for your class.

Although the University will be closed on 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1, the Hartley Hospitality Desk will continue to provide student support with no changes to its hours of operation.

From December 1 - 10, Columbia Housing, Residential Life, and Fire Safety will conduct annual Health and Safety Inspections on campus. More information and a schedule of residence hall inspections are below.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, there is important information students need to know to prepare for Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks, as well as the end of the year.

Beginning Monday, October 5, the desk team will provide help via phone only during the overnight shift, midnight - 8:00 AM. Call 212-854-2779.

Beginning Wednesday, August 26 the Hospitality Desk will resume 24/7 operations to support the residential community. The desk is located in Hartley Hall and staff can be reached via phone at 212-854-2779.

We are currently adjusting our operational plans based on the University announcement on Friday, August 14.  

Students will receive their Fall 2020 Housing assignment by email on August 7.

Columbia Housing will open with reduced occupancy for Academic Year 2020-21. New students and sophomores are invited to live on campus in the fall semester. Juniors and seniors are scheduled for the spring semester. 

The Hartley Hospitality Desk will operate with amended hours for the summer: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
