Room Selection appointments are not held on religious holidays. This year, there are no appointments on Thursday 4/2 or Friday 4/3. The printed calendar incorrectly listed Wednesday 4/1 as a holiday. Appointment times as communicated on March 24 are correct.

Since 2024, Columbia Housing has upgraded and replaced equipment across nine of its 11 residence hall fitness centers.
Although it may seem far away, move-out will be here in just a few weeks. We know that the end of the academic year can be busy, so we encourage you to start thinking about the process now.
It’s time for eligible CC/SEAS students to declare their housing intent for the next academic year in the Housing Portal.
This action is required to students who:
- wish to participate in Room Selection and choose their AY 26-27 assignment,
- plan to study abroad or take a leave a of absence, or
- intend to move off campus.
Students must declare their intent by 5 p.m. EST on Friday, March 6, to maintain their guaranteed housing status and to participate in Room Selection.

Starting On Monday, February 23, all continuing, residential CC/SEAS students will be required to declare their housing intent for Academic Year 2026-2027 as part of Room Selection.
Your health and safety are a priority for the University. Annual Health & Safety inspections are conducted in every residence hall once per academic year.
Columbia Housing capitalized on the reduced occupancy over winter break to upgrade communal spaces in McBain Hall and corridors in Watt Hall. The upgrades not only refresh and modernize the buildings, but also incorporate sustainability features like the use of recycled content.
The Columbia Housing team recently completed its battery replacement program, a routine maintenance effort that requires coordination and organized execution. The operations team manually replaced a total of 26,598 batteries, servicing 4,433 locks across 35 residence halls.
