Popular upperclass residence hall East Campus is about to be even more of a favorite once students see the townhouse renovations and community space makeovers conducted in the building during the summer break.
Columbia marked a milestone in its sustainability efforts by completing its first all-electric undergraduate residence hall at 611 W. 112th Street. Housing welcomes the building's inaugural residents for the 2025-26 Academic Year.
In support of its sustainability efforts, Columbia Housing donated nearly 3,500 pieces of furniture to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) from East Campus and Hartley Hall, both currently undergoing renovations.
Effective Friday, May 30, the Hospitality Desk will be located in Furnald Hall.

River and Hogan refresh conducted, air conditioning added to four major residence halls, and electronic lock work extended to more buildings
Mia DeLuis Zayas (CC'20) is now a manager of housing services at Columbia, but she knows how to get settled into a routine from her four years in the residence halls.
Since the project's launch in September 2023, we have upgraded over 2,000 locks across 13 buildings and expect project completion by the end of Summer 2025.
Residents may experience minor access disruptions during the software update, August 5 - August 6.
As renovations began in Hogan and River Halls this summer, Columbia Housing needed to find a home for nearly 400 pieces of used furniture removed from the buildings. Housing successfully donated these items to two local organizations: Church World Service Jersey City and Habitat for Humanity.
