Summer Project Work in Residence Halls

Summer presents the opportunity for project work in the residence halls. The following highlights improvements and updates planned in our buildings, so residents and community members can plan accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our team.  

Occupied Buildings this Summer

Summer Work by Building

  • New laundry room equipment to be installed in buildings

Broadway Hall

  • Elevator & ADA Lift Modernization: 2 elevators will be functioning at all times
  • Laundry Room Refresh

Carman Hall

  • Replacement of the ceiling on the 1300 level, new waste receptables and refresh of laundry room, including new paint, LED lights, polished concrete floor

Carlton Arms

  • A / B Line Suite Rooms Refresh

Casa Latina

  • Total Brownstone Refresh including backyard pavers

East Campus

  • Repairs to the façade in accordance with the NYC Department of Building’s Façade Inspection and Safety Program
  • Chilled Water Loop project pre-phased building modernization work

Furnald Hall

  • 100 Level & Floor Lounges
  • Refresh of lobby, including new Public Safety desk, woodwork, paint, and furniture
  • Refresh of laundry room, including new paint, LED lights, polished concrete floor

Hartley Hall

  • Refresh of laundry room, including new paint, LED lights, polished concrete floor

Hogan Hall

  • Refresh of hallways throughout the building with new carpet, paint, ceiling tiles, and doors
  • New Room furniture throughout the building

John Jay Hall

  • Refresh of laundry room, including new paint, LED lights, polished concrete floor
  • Repairs to the façade in accordance with the NYC Department of Building’s Façade Inspection and Safety Program

Lerner Hall

  • Replacement of the southwest roof to address leaks and other drainage conditions
  • Replacement of the existing fire alarm system, and expansion of the existing fire sprinkler system

McBain Hall

  • Repairs to the façade in accordance with the NYC Department of Building’s Façade Inspection and Safety Program

Ruggles

  • Upgrade to Fire System

Schapiro Hall

  • Waterproofing of plaza to address leaks, including the installation of new granite, brick pavers, bike racks, and new planters
  • Refresh of hallways throughout the building with new carpet, paint, ceiling tiles, doors, and furniture
  • Refresh of laundry room, including new paint, LED lights, polished concrete floor
  • New Room furniture throughout the building

Wallach Hall

  • Replacement of Fire Systems – Phase 1
  • Refresh of laundry room, including new paint, LED lights, polished concrete floor

Wien Hall

  • Replacement of windows near elevator lobbies to bring in more light, and refresh of hallways throughout the building with new carpet, paint, ceiling tiles, doors and waste receptacles

Wien Courtyard

  • Repair and restoration of the cast iron/metal entrance gate and iron fencing at Wien Courtyard
