Check-In Requirements & Arrival Tips
Preparation is the key to a smooth Check-In experience! Review our pre-arrival tips and complete your Check-In requirements to avoid delays at Check-In.

Requirements
- By August 1
- Sign your Occupancy Agreement through the Housing Portal
- Submit a photo for your Columbia University ID card
- Students participating in Bag Drop should select a Check-In time on Sunday, August 27 in the Housing Portal
- Before arrival to campus
- Review arrival instructions for your building: Carman Hall, Furnald Hall, John Jay Hall, and Wallach Hall
- Make a parking plan and review planned street closures that may limit street parking
- Obtain property insurance. The University does not reimburse students for loss or damage to personal property for any reason
- Complete requirements communicated by your School
- By August 1
