Room Selection Registration Opens in One Week

Starting On Monday, February 23, all continuing, residential CC/SEAS students will be required to declare their housing intent for Academic Year 2026-2027 as part of Room Selection. This process confirms students' plans for next year and must be completed even if they plan to move off-campus, study abroad, or take a leave of absence.

Housing declaration is the first of several important Room Selection events. We recommend adding the dates listed in this email to your calendar.

Housing Declaration Begins February 23

Students must declare their housing intent during the registration period, Monday, February 23 – Friday, March 6, if they:

  • Want to participate in selection and choose your AY 26-27 assignment,
  • Plan to study abroad or take a leave of absence, or
  • Intend to move off-campus.

Failure to declare intent by 5 p.m. on March 6 will result in the loss of guaranteed housing status and forfeit of AY 26-27 assignment.

What to Expect

  • All Room Selection requirements take place online in the Housing Portal.
  • You must complete the process through the Statement of Intent step.
  • If you plan to participate in Room Selection, you can register as an individual or as part of a group.
    • Columbia Housing encourages students (particularly rising sophomores and juniors) to participate as part of even-numbered groups to improve their chances of selecting a room during their appointment time.
  • After registration ends, groups and individual participants will receive lottery numbers and appointment times.
