May 02, 2025

Spring 2025 Check-Out Deadlines

  • Non-Graduating students: by noon on May 17
  • Graduating students by noon on May 22
  • RAs by noon on May 23

Select a Check-Out Appointment

Making a Check-Out appointment tells us when you plan to leave so we can better manage resources and elevator traffic during move-out. Select an appointment time in the Housing Portal by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7.

Early check-outs are not eligible for prorated refunds at this point in the semester. Extensions are not available for any reason.

New in Carman, McBain & EC: Request Early Bird Check-Out

Early Bird Check-Out is like a fast pass for move-out. If approved, a moving bin will be delivered to your the day before your Check-Out deadline, and you’ll be assigned an elevator timeslot between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on the final day of Check-Out during which you’ll have designated elevator access.

Request to participate in the Housing Portal by 10 a.m. on May 7. You will receive confirmation by May 9.

Check-Out Steps

As you pack, please keep your belongings in your assigned space and do not pack items in trash bags. Facilities staff will begin cleaning buildings as soon as non-graduating students begin to check out. We don’t want your items to get confused with recycling or garbage.

  1. Submit a service request to document any issues in your room.
  2. Remove message boards, door tags, posters, and tape from door and walls.
  3. Pack and remove all personal belongings from your space. Do not leave items unattended in building hallways. Any items left behind will be discarded.
  4. Remove all trash to designated locations. A supplemental cleaning fee may be assessed if your room requires additional maintenance, extensive cleaning, or the removal of trash or abandoned furniture.
  5. Clean and sweep/vacuum your space. This includes common areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
  6. Check inside drawers, closets, and other spaces to make sure no personal belongings have been left behind.
  7. Complete Web Check-Out in the Housing Portal.
  8. Notify your RA that you have left.
