Wien Hall Arrival Instructions

We’re pleased to announce that Columbia Housing has partnered with a premier student moving service on August 23 and August 24 to ensure that our new students and their families have a positive, comfortable, and welcoming first experience as Columbia Lions.

This service is being offered at our largest first-year residence halls, Carman Hall, John Jay Hall, and Wien Hall due to the complexity of move-in operations required for these buildings.

Arrival Instructions

By Personal Vehicle: Head south on Morningside Drive and turn west onto W. 116th Street. You may need to queue prior to turning on W. 116th Street so please approach from the south as shown in the graphic below. Temporarily park in the unload zone along the north side of the street. Moving support will be provided at the unload zone.

By Taxi or Rideshare: Follow the arrival instructions outlined above if your driver will take you through the unload zone. If you are dropped off near campus, proceed to the unload zone on foot. Moving support will be provided at the Wien unload zone.

By Public Transportation (Bus/Subway): Proceed to your unload zone on foot. Moving support will be provided at the Wien unload zone.

Show your Lion Pass to the moving company staff and let them do the heavy lifting!

The staff will unload your belongings into bins labeled with your last name and room number, and take your bins to your room. It may take up to 30 minutes for your items to arrive.

If you arrived by personal vehicle, you will need to find parking on an open street or in a garage

Streets in the area may be closed on Saturday and Sunday to facilitate move-in.

The Wien Tent is marked with a star on the map below.

Refer to International Check-In page, Bag Drop page, or Check-In Day page for next steps.
