Mail Services
Mail Policy
Students living in Columbia Housing have mail service while they remain in the residence halls. This applies to all new students, including first year and transfer students. Students who do not live in Columbia Housing do not have access to the Columbia Student Mail Center.
Residents are not permitted to receive mail or packages to any address other than the Student Mail Center. Addressing mail/packages to an individual residence hall or brownstone is prohibited.
Collecting Packages
The U.S. Postal Service and other courier delivery services deliver all incoming mail and packages for residential CC/SEAS students to the Student Mail Center in the lower level of Wien Hall.
Within 24 hours of receiving mail or a package, the Student Mail Center will process the package and send the student an email notification indicating relevant package pickup information. Please do not come to the Mail Center until you have received notification from Columbia Mail. If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, please email the Mail Center and include your package tracking number.
Student Mail Management Portal
Students have access to a mail management portal that allows them to login and view the mail and packages they have received at the Student Mail Center. Using the Student Mail Portal, students can also reserve a locker or designate a proxy to pick up their mail for them. During the Fall pre-delivery and Check-In periods, students can login to the Student Mail Portal to track the status of their packages. Log in to the Student Mail Portal.
Accessible Package Locker
Students with disabilities or temporary injuries can request access to the accessible package locker in John Jay by contacting Disability Services.
After-Hours Lockers
After-hours lockers are intended for package pick-up outside of Student Mail Center operating hours, by request only. Based on availability, lockers are prioritized for critical needs such as medication, perishable items, or items of high value.
