The campuses of Columbia University—all buildings, facilities, and grounds—are private property. Anyone wishing to film on campus must adhere to the University policies in place to respect student privacy and ensure minimal disruption to University activities. All requests for filming require an application and approval. Columbia undergraduate film students, members of recognized clubs or organizations, and independent students interested in filming on campus need to complete the Event Management Student Film Application. Filming in the undergraduate residence halls and brownstones is prohibited unless the photographer or filmmaker has received approval from Event Management.
