Bike Racks

Introduction

Some residence halls offer limited indoor bike racks available for any Columbia Housing resident on a first-come, first-served basis.

Policy

Bicycles left unattended, blocking egress (e.g. doorways, hallways, or fire safety exits), or secured to railings not intended for bikes will be confiscated by Columbia Housing and Public Safety.

In addition, Columbia Housing bike racks may not be used for long-term storage. At the end of each academic year, bikes must be removed. Unclaimed bikes will have their locks cut and will be donated.

If you’re living on campus for summer term, you may be asked to temporarily store your bike outside of Columbia Housing. See bike racks across campus.

Campus Bike Racks

In addition to the bike racks outside of Columbia Housing buildings, residents may also use the racks across campus available to the Columbia community.  

However, these racks are neither owned nor managed by Columbia Housing and are subject to certain restrictions. Bike racks may not be used for long-term storage. At the end of each semester, all locks will be cut, and bikes removed. Unclaimed bikes will be donated.
