Update to Fall Semester Quarantine Protocol for International Students Awaiting Vaccination

July 16, 2021

As previously communicated by Columbia Health, all students who will be living and studying on campus for the upcoming Fall Term are required to be fully vaccinated* for COVID-19 or to have received approval for an exemption from the vaccination requirement for medical or religious reasons. Additionally, due to evolving travel requirements from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) the University will be requiring a 7-day, in-room quarantine for students who are:

  • assigned to a double room for the fall,
  • traveling to Columbia from outside the United States and
  • not have proof that they are fully vaccinated* upon arrival to campus for Fall Check-In.

Columbia Housing contacted international students who may be impacted by this change with quarantine-related information.

*Fully vaccinated individuals are those for whom it has been 14 days since their final injection of one of the COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or by the World Health Organization (the number of injections required differs per vaccine). If you are already vaccinated, upload your required vaccination documents following these instructions.
