Check-Out Deadlines

Non-Graduating students: check out within 24 hours of their last exam or by noon on Saturday, May 17, whichever is sooner
Graduating students: check out by noon on Thursday, May 22
RAs: check out by noon on Friday, May 23

Early check-outs are not eligible for prorated refunds at this point in the semester. Extensions are not available for any reason.

Submit the Vendor Access Request form as soon as possible if a storage or shipping vendor requires access to your residence hall. If you live within campus gates, you must also request campus access and meet your vendor at select gates.
Begin sorting your belongings and recycling items you no longer need.
- Trash chutes will close on May 5. Bring your trash to your building lounges or compactor rooms for collection, or to the EC courtyard for townhouse residents. Trash bags will be available from your RA if you need them.
- A supplemental cleaning fee may be assessed if your room requires additional maintenance or extensive cleaning, including the removal of trash or abandoned furniture. Learn more.
Set up mail forwarding by following the instructions on the Columbia Mail website.

Moving bin rentals are available 24/7 from Hartley Hall and during select times from the satellite locations.
Streets near your building may be closed to overnight parking to facilitate loading and unloading vehicles.
Some buildings may have special access points to facilitate move-out.
