Notice to the Residents of Morningside Heights: Temporary Ramps and Street Parking Closures in May

During the first few weeks of May, undergraduate residential students will be checking out of Columbia University housing. To facilitate the Check-Out process, we are installing temporary ramps at some residence halls and closing street parking on select neighborhood streets for brief periods.  

You may experience higher than usual traffic through May 18.  

Street Parking Closures 

On Friday, May 12, street parking will be unavailable from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the following: 

  • W. 114th Street between Amsterdam Ave and Broadway 

On Saturday, May 13, street parking will be unavailable from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the following: 

  • W. 113th Street between Amsterdam Ave and Riverside 
  • W. 114th Street between Amsterdam Ave and Broadway 
  • W. 115th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive 
  • Morningside Drive between W. 116th Street and W. 118th Street 

On Thursday, May 18, street parking will be unavailable from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the following:  

  • W. 114th Street between Amsterdam Ave and Broadway 
  • Morningside Drive between W. 116th Street and W. 118th Street 

Ramp Installations 

Temporary ramps will be installed this week at McBain Hall (562 West 113th St.), River Hall (628 W. 114th St.), Watt Hall (549 W 113th St.), and Woodbridge Hall (431 Riverside Dr). These ramps allow residential students to transport bins and other bulk items out of the residence halls during this high traffic period. These ramps will be removed by May 22.
