Guest Policy during Check-In for the Residence Halls

Note guest protocol in the residence hall during the early arrival and check-in periods.

Residents should be aware of the guest policies during the early check-in and regular check-in process.

Sunday, August 14 - Thursday, September 1

  • CC/SEAS undergraduate residents may have up to two (2) guests enter their residence hall to assist them in the move in process.
  • Move in guests must be vaccinated and must be prepared to show vaccination documentation if asked. Guests are encouraged to wear masks while in the building.
  • Residents should let the guard know that their guest(s) is there to assist with move in. Move in guests will need to present photo identification and be signed into the residence hall.
  • Move in guests may remain in their host’s residence hall for up to four (4) hours.
  • Guests may not stay overnight.

International Check-In (8/27)

  • CC/SEAS undergraduate international student residents checking in on this day may have guests enter their residence hall to assist them in the move in process.
  • Move in guests must be vaccinated and must be prepared to show vaccination documentation if asked.
  • Residents that present their CUID to enter the building may have their guests accompany them. No sign-in is necessary. Guests not accompanied by a CUID holder should not be admitted. 
  • Move in guests may remain in their host’s residence hall until 5PM.
  • Guests may not stay overnight.

Bag Drop (8/27)

  • CC/SEAS undergraduate residents participating in bag drop on this day may have guests enter their residence hall to assist them in the bag drop process. Guests must be vaccinated and must be prepared to show vaccination documentation if asked.
  • All bag drop residents and guests must be wearing a lion sticker (see below). Individuals without a sticker should not be admitted (except in circumstances outlined above for international students).
  • Bag drop residents and guests must vacate the building by 5PM. No admittance for any residents or guests after this time, unless accompanied by Residential Life or Housing staff.

First-Year (8/28), Transfer/Combined Plan (8/30), Upperclass Check-In (9/2)

  • CC/SEAS undergraduate residents checking in on these days may have guests enter their residence hall to assist them in the move in process. Move in guests must be vaccinated and must be prepared to show vaccination documentation if asked.
  • Residents that present their CUID to enter the building may have their guests accompany them. No sign-in is necessary. Guests not accompanied by a CUID holder should not be admitted. 
  • Move in guests may remain in their host’s residence hall until 5PM (8/28&30) or for a maximum of 4 hours (9/2).
  • Guests may not stay overnight.

Friday, September 2

Post Check-In

  • Following Upperclass Check-In, Academic Year guest policy will go into effect, including protocol for overnight guests.
