August 13, 2021

Welcome to a new Academic Year at Columbia! We hope you enjoyed your summer and look forward to welcoming you to campus.

Check-In Dates, Times, and Locations

  • Students have been assigned a specific Check-In day and time, as well as a Check-In Station upon arrival to campus.

  • Moving should be completed in time to attend New Student Orientation Program (NSOP) activities, depending on class.

  • Late Check-In will be available at the Hartley Hospitality Desk, open 24 hours a day.

  • Please note: students do not need to register for Check-In. Students are permitted no more than two guests to accompany them in the residence halls. Families and guests will be required to register if they plan to attend. Further information and a link to register was sent separately to families.

View more information about Check-In, including details on moving support, street closures, and more.

*Note: If students requested quarantine housing, instructions and temporary quarantine assignment will be provided at Check-In.

University ID Card

New students must submit a photo for your Columbia University ID card (CUID) by August 16. Students will receive their CUID at Check-In. Students who do not have a photo on record will need to go to the Student Service and ID Center at 210 Kent Hall between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. before checking in with Housing. Continuing students should be sure to bring their ID card with them for Check-In.
