What’s Different for Upperclass Check-In
- Street parking is limited. Most students will proceed directly to their building or to a bin rental location to unload their items before parking on the street or in a nearby garage that offers paid parking.
- Check-In is conducted online through the Housing Portal. You don’t need to check in with a Housing staff member unless you live in a hard key building (Hartley or Woodbridge).
- You can select your arrival day and time but we recommend that you arrive on August 30 to make use of multiple bin rental locations and more curbside drop-off. Note: bins will be available at the Hartley Desk all weekend long.
Please follow the steps outlined below to get ready for Check-In.
Step 1: Select Your Preferred Check-In Day & Time
Formal Check-In Day for returning upperclass students is Friday, August 30. You may Check-In at any point over the long weekend although resources will be limited.
Please log in to the Housing Portal to select your arrival date and time.
Step 2: Review the Check-In Process
See a step-by-step overview of what to expect at Check-In on our website.
Step 3: Obtain Property Insurance
The University assumes no responsibility for a resident's personal property while they live in the residence halls. We strongly recommend that students living on campus purchase property (renters) insurance on their own or ensure that they are covered by their parents’ or guardians’ property (homeowners) insurance.
Step 4: Review Check-In Resources and Timeline
In early August, we’ll send arrival instructions and tips for how to have a smooth Check-In experience. Until then, review the available Check-In resources:
