Returning Students Check-In Starting January 12

Returning students may check in starting on January 12 at the Hartley Hospitality Desk in Hartley Hall between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Check-In will be available through the start of term. Please bring your CUID as it is required for Check-In.

To-Do Before Arriving to Campus

  • Accept Your Housing Offer: Sign the Housing Occupancy Agreement by January 9. The Occupancy Agreement outlines the terms and conditions that a resident must abide by to live in Columbia Undergraduate Housing. Failure to sign may delay your Check-In process and jeopardize your room assignment.

  • Obtain Property Insurance: Students are strongly encouraged to secure insurance for personal property before arriving to campus. The University does not reimburse students for loss or damage to personal property for any reason. Review the Liability & Insurance section of the Guide to Living to learn more.

  • Complete Additional Student Requirements: As a new student to Columbia, there may be important requirements you must complete before your arrival. Please look for instructions from your school about how to complete these tasks. You will not be permitted to move into your room until you have completed the pre-arrival requirements.

  • Review the Guide to Living: The Guide to Living tells you everything you need to know about being a residential student in Columbia Housing. Review the guide to find policies and procedures about hosting guests, room decorations, Columbia Public Safety and emergencies, and more. Residential students should familiarize themselves with the content of the Guide to Living prior to moving into Columbia Housing.
